VoiceXML 2.0 evolved smoothly from VoiceXML 1.0, it keeps backward compatibility where possible while improving language usability and extending features where appropriate. The W3C CR specification clarifies many VoiceXML semantic and interpretation nuances. It is obvious the VoiceXML 1.0 was broadly adopted and used in the application development and the VoiceXML Forum got enough feedback from both the VoiceXML 1.0 implementors and users. The VoiceXML 2.0 seems to be a solid and stable platform for voice application development.
