## Refresh Basic Protocols Knowledge

Refresh your basic knowledge of transport protocols.
It is enough to consider TCP/IP:

- What are the typical network failures
    - Why can messages get lost ?
    - Why can messages get damaged ?
    - Why can messages get duplicated ?
- How are network failures handled on protocol level ?
    - What is a positive acknowledgment ?
    - What is a negative acknowledgment ?
- What is flow control ?
- What is congestion control ?

During the lecture, we will try to extend some of
the protocol solutions from unicast to multicast.
