Hi everyone,
since it looks like there is no system in place for creating teams other than "talk to other people" (...I know, right?), I would like to reach out with some self-promotion. If the following interests you, please get in touch by answering this thread or at roztocil at outlook.com.
Here's what I can offer (aside from a badly written attempt at funny advertisement):
-- I can communicate in Czech and English.
-- I am no expert in C, but I am a "very ok" modern C++ programmer (did my BA thesis in it) and know the main hazards of travelling back in time.
-- I am a first-year master's student and did the final state exam (státnice) that included this stuff fairly recently. (I didn't do this particular course during my BA because it was designated as an optional MA course in my plan, but now I am interested in what I missed out on...) Also, you can be sure that my soul has been fully crushed by Matfyz and I am free of ego.
-- I have some experience with professional real-world SW development, so I know your time is valuable and there is never enough of it.
What I would prefer in my teammates:
-- Similar profile, i.e. other MA or late BA students. However, if you are a first-year student who learns fast, I would be happy to work with you.
-- Taking at least a bit of pride in your work, not just doing the basic minimum.
-- Willingness to do boring adult stuff like answering emails.
-- Understanding that code review is a fundamental part of team development.
Anyway, if you have read up to this point you are already in my team - sorry, I don't make the rules.
Cheers
Ondřej Roztočil
